Miss Melissa Spence – Host – RISE UP – (STREETZ Mornings)

Miss Melissa is a full-blooded Anishanabe Winnipeg girl! Born and raised in what she calls “Her City”, Winnipeg is home to this Unofficial Queen Of Ghetto and she’s arrived on point, bumpin’ through your speakers each morning on The Rise Up Show with her pal J-Boogie.
Melissa was raised in Winnipeg’s inner city and went to high school on the south side of town. She can’t help but be herself and isn’t afraid to let her true colors shine through on-air each Monday to Friday, 7AM to 10AM.
She prides herself on being a music maven, and that’s probably why she is also the Music Director for STREETZ FM – the girl can’t get enough tunes!

Vanda Fleury – Host (The Word)

Vanda Fleury is 26 and relocated from Brandon to Winnipeg almost 3 years ago.  Vanda comes from a large railroading family around the St. Lazare/Beulah area of MB and she grew up in a handful of towns along the way. Vanda is currently a Master of Arts candidate in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Department of Native Studies at the University of Manitoba.  Her thesis (Whispers in the Valley: Voices of Our Grandmothers) is grounded in fur-trade history, exploring country marriages and the custom of ‘turning off’ Native wives by fur-trade men.
Vanda, aka Lady V, is the host of The Word - Streetz 104.7’s daily talk show, airing weekdays (M-F), noon ‘til 1.  Focusing on the voices of young Winnipeg, Vanda strives to highlight community events, people, and topics that are of importance to inner city youth.  If you’d like to have a conversation with Vanda, her email is vfleury@streetzfm.ca, or find her on Facebook under Vanda Streetz.

Sadie – Host – THE AFTERNOON BOOM (Streetz Afternoon)

Sadie is a 20 year old Cree emcee born and raised in Winnipeg. She's also lived in Brandon and in her home reserve, Bunibonibee Cree Nation.

Trained in dance, acting and singing, she started writing her own songs at 13 years old. With the mentorship of Grammy nominated rapper Fresh IE , Sadie began to rap. For the last four years Sadie has performed at venues throughout Canada and the United States. Recently, Sadie cut a six song EP called Boomboxx Sounds, produced by Fresh IE. Her first single, Boombox, was selected by APTN's First Track program to shoot her first music video. Sadie is connected to the hip hop scene across Canada and is excited to be a part of the next wave in Hip Hop – STREETZ 1047.

Elie 'DJ Street Keeper' – Host – THE RIDE (Streetz Evenings)

At an early age, Elie got into rap/hiphop music and by 14 was writing and recording his own songs.  Since then, Elie has faded into the background to help out behind the camera, managing and being a full-time promoter for a childhood friend, Young Kidd and his camp...CTL Records.

Jeremy Harper – Host  (Oji-Cree Weekend)

Jeremy Harper, 19, is from Garden Hill/Island Lake First Nations in Northeastern Manitoba. He is fluent Oji-Cree Speaker, in fact it was the only language he spoke up until the age of six when he entered public school in Thompson, MB. Due to family breakdown he ended up in foster care at the age of 12 and remained in the system until he turned 16. He maintained a positive attitude throughout the experience focusing on his education and volunteering with youth in his neighborhood. Jeremy recently graduated from Children of the Earth High School in Winnipeg and joins the STREETZ team as a part time weekend announcer in the Oji-Cree language.

Jeremy is committed to working with youth and in particular sharing and preserving his Aboriginal language. He collects and shares stories in the language and also enjoys interpret contemporary music in Oji-Cree.

Jamie 'Tha Streetz Ellis' – Weekend Host


Jamie Ellis is Dub city (WPG) born & raised. "Hip Hop iz a Culture, not a Genre." With that being said he's been all about the cultures music since birth. As the culture evolved so has he with skill and interest in evry aspect the music has 2 offer. Beats, Lyricism, Artwork, Production, Management, you name it he does it all. He's been doin his thing behind the scenes 4 a minute and its gonna b even longer still, with much more appearances in the forefront.

Jessica McKay – Web Design/Production Trainee

Jessica McKay is a 20 year old Cree and Ojibwe born in Winnipeg but was relocated and grew up in Dryden, ON. She recently graduated from high school and moved back to the Peg City where most of her family still resides.
Jessica loves music. She entered the Fine Arts program in Junior High and joined both the Junior High and High School Band until graduation.
She also began to focus her interest in web design and computer coding at the school’s co-op program. She looks forward to a dynamic interactive presence for STREETZ @ www.streetzfm.ca
